National Endowment for Democracy (NED)

"The best way to control the opposition is to lead it ourselves." -Vladimir Lenin

In the 1980's Ronald Reagan signed legislation to create a government funding mechanism to promote "democracy" throughout the world.  The funding mechanism was through an organization called the National Endowment for Democracy (NED). [pdf NED History]  NED is a U.S. Taxpayer funded propaganda arm of the U.S. government spreading "democracy" as defined by Reagan and mandated in the Lima Declaration which called for the "New International Economic Order" - global redistribution of wealth from the industrialized countries to the developing countries.
